Got an ex council house to rewire. Sockets are straight forward and will be doing it in T&E
But the lighting is done in singles 6241y. And I want to do the same. I have rolls of conduit wiring on the van, but not sure if this is suitable for slotting down plasterboard soothing walls or popping...
So, went to look at a property for a landlord. In the bathroom there is an electric shower in zone1, but it's mounted approx 2 foot above the water line. The isolator pull switch is outside zone2. Oh and the circuit is rcd protected and on a separate 45a breaker.

Agreed on both point. But A) why have the termination screw o the box if it's not mandatory and B) why was I told to do it and have always done it since I was a lad?

Let's start by saying I'm a fossil. I was trained the old way, were u went with a mate and went to night school and day release. Anyway, was on a domestic fault for a mate of a mate. I rocked up, kitchen ring tripping. Asked any recent works, holes...
if i had the time, or the inclination, id look for a few tests cases in law which would set precidence and support either of our points.
But just thinking allowed, most standard junction boxes rely on the cables held in place with cable clips....they certainly dont have cable clamps within them...
