The MCB for the kitchen sockets tripped on the house CU and the MCB for the outside sockets tripped on the outside CU - the outside CU only has one used MCB (for the outside sockets).

The outside CU is independent of the internal CU. I have a 4-pole isolation switch after the meter, from the switch are the two CUs - other than sharing the same isolation switch, they're totally separate.

My mother in law decided to poach an egg in the microwave, and whatever she did, the egg went bang and knocked out the kitchen sockets.
