Hi Megawatt, there were several of these sockets in a bungalow, and all were fed from grey stranded pvc.- philturner

Unusual Sockets found on rewire
The sockets were in the bedrooms as well as the lounge, all wired in pvc with stranded conductors (even the earth were three strands). @Lucien Nunes , if you pm me your address i have found a couple more, and i will send them to you.- philturner

Lead sheathed cable
it was a standard twin cable, as the lead sheath provided the earthing, and used metal joint boxes with screwits (porcelain then, plastic now)- philturner

Lead sheathed cable
after finding various lead sheathed cable in properties left by previous installers after rewires, the subject always comes up at coffee breaks ...... what size drums was lead sheathed cable supplied on ? due to the weight, we think maybe 30 yards.- philturner
