The blokes still at work I’ve known him a long time so I was first port of call don’t blame him for going through insurance we all pay the damn stuff might aswell get what we invest 😅
Faulty drum is where my heads at
Wiring I did end up belling leg to leg just to figure out how they did it and seems pretty logical doesn’t look like a jb nightmare job like all work looks 10/10 just cheap gear
Megs just been calibrated month or so ago and was in full force last night...
Sorry I feel I must have worded it poorly but I did mate I took every socket off and every leg between every socket had a LE fault my thinking was the drum must have been
NE >999
LN >999
LE >50
Something like that at install so it would have held fine and now 12 year down line it’s broke down...
I thought the same about the installer like don’t get me wrong board was tidy sockets made off neat decent looking job from what I’ve seen, but I’m sure LE readings would have been down from install on a faulty drum ? 12 years is a rapid decline.
I’ve asked homeowner for test results if any were...
Every thing is disconnected pal literally just legs out the wall and every single leg has a LE fault some 0.03M next one coul be 0.59M one leg was 3.38M but every single leg was faulting
Brief run down for you all
Checked end to end of ring that’s sound
Meggered LN sound NE sound LE 0.03
Split the ring same stuff
Split it again same stuff again
Long story short stripped all sockets off on the ring and every single leg has a LE fault
Was rewired 2010
Only logical thing I can...
Yes the actual arm is live and yes it is locked off at rotary just trying to figure it out After removing water damaged capacitor (brown stain) it lost continuity to arm and lives and now even with new parts the problem returns
Right general run thorough
Gate disconnected as one arm was live and earths were cut out
tested arm and yes it was live, ran through everything I could and after disconnecting the capacitor the arm had no voltage or continuity.
replaced capacitor and voltage is back and the gate will only...
I can’t say I know the difference but professional curiosity has got the better me and would love to know the different ratings between the two ? also all this will be above a suspended ceiling
Fair point...
Fire in a few o band loops... always gets me though how do you secure a metal saddle ? Plastic plug ? How does a plastic plug hold up a metal saddle in worst case scenario? Surely plug melts metal saddle fixing redundant?
