    Looking for GE RCD

Hi Anyone have a GE 80A 30mA double pole RCD module kicking around their storage? It's a 097-148282-039. Trying to get an obsolete board to stagger on for a year or so while customer decides what he's going to do with the property. Thanks all Tony

Looking at James' drawing and drawing it out myself last night, I can do it with the minigrid and the two T&E cables I have. Many thanks all. Tony

Relays to control lighting in a domestic house.

I'm struggling a little with that one. Switch isn't powered and I only have 2x 2core to play with.

Relays to control lighting in a domestic house.

Would love to, but no, they have to do it the difficult way. Once this customer has his mind set on anything, it would take dynamite to move it... Hence, I have to find a solution.

Relays to control lighting in a domestic house.

Hi all I'll freely admit, I'm out of my depth here. I've been asked to sort some lighting in a bathroom do do the following: Main lights and some accent lights from one switch. Mirror lights and the same set of accent lights from another. I guess it can be done using 230v relays, but haven't a...

Too damn slow... - As sparkySy suggests

Any advice on increasing 4 inch extraction hole to 6 inch

If you don't need to centre on the original hole you could try what I do, start with the 6in core drill resting on the lower edge of the hole and carefully bring up to vertical as it starts to bite, or get some 1/2in ply (or some such), cut a 6in hole, screw it to the wall around the existing...

CheckaTrade | MyBuilder | RatedPeople | TrustaTrader etc - Who's with what and why?

Never needed to use any of the listed routes to market. I am on NextDoor, but only for general village things. Always just relied on a cheap advert in the Village magazine and word of mouth. I don't want to line someone else's pocket in a race to the lowest price.

    Panel Lights in insulation...

Ouch.. - Just realised what you are trying to do. have to say, cold spots might be the only answer, although as badegg says, you can go pretty tight with LED, although drivers still need a bit of breathing room to prevent early failures.

    Panel Lights in insulation...

Just buy the metal insulation guards from screwfix and lay the insulation over the top. No cold spots and the lights are protected from the usual important items (junk) stored there.

    Line products connectors

I'm sure there's a thread out there somewhere, but put a search in and can't find one. Anyway, has Line Products gone under? Their website just says "No product available" again. A bit like the last time there were supply issues. Anyway, any info/update appreciated. Thanks Tony

    EICR process

Same for me - Domestic testing = 100% of the install. People seem surprised when I tell them that for a 4 Bed house I will be there for at least 6 hours (I fill in the details/results etc on software package as I go so there is no additional office work later). But I invariably get the work to...

    Approx re-wire length of time?

I'd have to agree with the three weeks, especially as you said it is and old house - lots of lovely lime render to fall off every time you show it a wall chaser or SDS. I'd even add a couple more days if you have to make good as well - you'll end up with (on average) half a wall per room to...

    Line products connectors

Re: Has Line Products gone under?? Thanks, just found it - there might be some hope of the enclosures coming back into stock.
