Hi guys, what form of advertising do you find brings business in best? Of course there is no substitute for word of mouth, but what other ways do you find works best

A well-written leaflet handed personally to the householder. Then they know who's going to turn up if they phone.

Also get loads of business cards printed and hand them out at any opportunity.

Is there a local church/village/parish magazine you can try, these normally bring in far more work than the yellow pages/ thomson etc

Ask as many people as you can (friends, relatives, people in the pub, wherever) where do they look if they need a plumber, builder etc. Whatever the most popular answer is, advertise there.

I say that because it can vary quite widely between areas and the type of people.

I have just tried check a **** for the first time could be good, but do a good job etc.. its hard every man and his mum is becoming a sparks

why because its being made to easy sorry dont get me going but try the local stuff first remember the ripples from a stone start in the middle and travel outwards..

I run an 1/8th page full colour ad in a local monthly, costs me £31 per month and easily profits £500 a time. I ran an annual black and white ad in Yellow Pages for £--- (can't bring myself to go and remind myself how big the mistake was!) and it generated £0. Therefore, go figure!
