I was overthinking what you might be wanting to do in the longer term.
If you just want to do continuity tests, say with a wander lead connected (eg to an isolated wire) at the CU, and checking at your socket or JB which wire goes to that, any of the two pole testers will do that, even the Martindale.
And the advantage of having a 2 pole tester over a multimeter is that you can properly check a circuit is dead before working on it, whereas a multimeter is not the tool for that.
ok I don't think I'll be going for the multimeter atm, ideally a two pole tester, don't really want to spend 100 on a t150, the ebay ones I can't seem to find a legit seller or trusted source, maybe i'm just being cautious. Would the t90 serve the same purpose as the martindale or in what way is it better

The Martindale does a couple of things:
If you probe a 'dangerous' over 50V it buzzes and lights up LEDs indicating the voltage in steps.
It beeps when you touch the probes together, ie continuity. Eg typically does that when you probe between N and E.

The Fluke T150 does all those things, plus it has a LCD display that shows the voltage, and it can also show resistance on that display - low ohms with 1 ohm accuracy. It also has a switch to give a greater load on the circuit being measured to reduce ghost voltages. There are probably other features I've forgotten. Its all in the details online

The T90 has a much cooler Fluke badge on it than the Martindale so it makes you look way cooler with it hanging out of your pocket at the trade counter of your local wholesalers.
