hi everyone i went to a flat and did a periodic for rental. I then did remedials of which included a board change requiring an installation cert. Can I ask do i nedd to supply a periodic and an installtion cart with the same values on them i am thinking yes if people can advise please.

Your PIR will have had schedule of inspection and test results with I assume the Non RCD protection on it.

Your EIC will also have a set of schdules for inspection and test results with the RCD protection.

so it will be 2 different sets of complete certificates.

EIC for work you have done and a PIR for the whole installation.

Then it is a Tel suggested PIR for existing installation, EIC for your board change and a single set of schedules for the inspection and results to cover both.

If you were taking the 2391 exam. then the answer would be two sets of schedules, one set for the PIR and one for the EIC.
As for being allowed, allowed by whom?

As noted on my post #2 you should have two sets of schedules of results and inspection but they are going to be indentical results except for the RCD section which will be included now that you have changed the CU, so what is the use of a set of results from the PIR that are now no longer relevant as the PIR will not have those RCD results on it.

You will be doubling up on quite a lot of things on both your PIR and your EIC espicially in the sections "supply characteristics and earthing arrangements " as well as the "particulars of the installation referred to in the certificate"

I would mark in the observation part that the schedule of inspection and results are aligned to the new EIC from the CU change, giving that EIC a reference number and quoting it there, that now incorporates RCD protection and the PIR covers the rest of the fixed installation.

The model forms for EICs and PIRs in BS7671 indicate that schedules form part of each document, and that the documents are not valid if schedules are not attached.
As for each set of schedules containing identical information, that would be for the person issuing the documents to decide.
BS7671 requires relevant tests to be conducted and recorded.
Would tests on existing equipment be relevant when changing a CU/DB, especially as they would be identical to those conducted for the PIR?

could always photocopy scedule of results , then each cert. would have it's own.

In fact i'd email him the extra 2 copies of the same schedule of test results and inspection so he can have an electronic copy just in case.

in the board there is a circuit which for the life of me i cant find. I have connected the circuit in the board but left it isolated. I know in the periodic i can reference this however what would you put on the eic and is that acceptable practice to leave off as isolation and comment tthat you have done so.

what's the MCB rating of this circuit? and the cable size?

redundant immersion heater circuit?

To be honest I would have not connected it, but left it in perhaps in a small adaptable box outside of the CU and labeled it on the EIC in the part comments on the existing installation

Could it have been an old immersion heater ?

i would disconnect but be prepared for a possible phone call saying something ain't working now.

but if you dis. it and do get a phone call, you'll then know what it supplies. bear in mind there could be a bare cable end buried in a wall somewhere. err on the side of caution.
