Has anyone had a customer try and claim compensation for the FIT if the paper work didn't make the dead line.
We are talking £20,00 over the 20 year period based on the current climate
thanks in advance

not personally, but if it did happen I'd be going for a percentage rebate on the upfront costs of the system proportional to the FIT percentage loss in anual income. That'd be fair if it was your fault, not paying the entire 20 year loss of earnings upfront so they can then reinvest that elsewhere and make 20 year earnings on top.

Which FIT cut are you talking about?

sorry £6000.00 over 20 years
It was July 1st. I made a mistake on the OFGEM web application

well you have my answer, work out the percentage reduction in return including all aspects of it, then take that percentage from the cost of the system and that's the compensation to be offered.

probably worth just biting the bullet on that tbh, send a cheque for that amount with a letter explaining how it was arrived at, as full and final settlement. Might not be the answer they're looking for, but it is fair and I doubt any court would say otherwise so they'll just settle the matter at that IMO.

Does that mean as installers we are responsible for the FIT paperwork . Nowhere on my order form and contact does it state I am responsible for the paper work, I try and help were I can and I do state this when explaining the installation process.

The way I look at it, is that he has one year of FIT at the higher rate, with inflation he will be back on track within a year. So only lost a years difference or am I wrong.

if you submit the application then yes you'd be responsible, which looked to be what you were saying by saying you'd made a mistake on the ofgem application.

Or if you didn't supply all the paperwork required by the deadline, and had promised you would, then I'd think that'd make you responsible.... but not if you'd only said you'd do your best etc.

depends what was agreed really.

Bit late weighing on this one but for future reference maybe.

What Fit rate are we talking here?

The last one from 14.38 to 13.88 (I get this probably wasnt your issue) but it was under £20 a year on the fits... so if it was your fault- give them £400 back?

I don't get where the £20,000 comes from?
