You are correct, its not up to scratch!
Very poor and dangerous workmanship.
Single insulated crimped conductors, protected by duct tape! to be plastered over? Plus the other issues already highlighted.
Certainly wants reporting to the Housing Association and the electricians 'governing body' NICEIC, ELECSA or the like. Probably find a sticker on the side of their horse!

Yes I think they will plaster over.
 
I assure you that it was.
They may claim to be many things but an electrician isn't one of them. If we discovered any of our electricians were undertaking work to this standard they would be sacked immediately.
 
it'll be OK. plasterer will nick them with his trowel, wet-pants will run his pipes in front of the sockets, and kevin will screw through them. then when "sparks" does his bang test, all will be revealed.
 
The sockets have been moved down which left the 2 top ones empty. As requested via the spec sheet for the kitchen refit from my housing association.
