You need to carry out a 3 wire 'fall of potential' test.
Instructions on how to use the tester correctly should be supplied with the tester.

The full test involves taking readings at regular intervals then plotting these results on a graph, the Ra value is read off at the point where the line flattens off.
It is possible to speed the test up by only taking readings at a certain distance from the electrode, but it is good to do the full test a the first couple of times to learn how it all works.
