It appears to be connected correctly albeit to a dire standard. Is everything switched on at your consumer unit?

Thank you for your prompt response.

Yes connected. Initially tried to turn on without any pot, later placed a small tea pot . Nothing happened.

But regardless if I place the pot or not it should turn on I atleast ?

Have you tripped anything at your consumer unit?

Why isn't it clamped to cable clamp

Why isn't it clamped to cable clamp
Just found out this one needs a 32 amp as the previous one was a less watt plus getting the cable changed as well. Thank you for your assistance.

If you connected it to a source of power, albeit a lower amperage breaker/cable, then I would expect the control panel to come to life.

Did you read in the instructions that you have to keep your finger on the 'on' button for at least one second for it to come on? Also if you keep pressing it for 3 seconds it starts a setup mode for deactivating sound!

Of course being an induction hob it needs appropriate cookware on it before it will actually heat!

It seems to say 4.00mm cable ,it looks like 6mm you have in .make sure you use cable clamp when changing cable .

It means a 4.0mm2 flex, not T&E. Personally I would connect this with 5 core 2.5mm2 H05RN-F, with a crimped ring terminal on each core, using two for live, two for neutral and one for earth.

I'm not sure it is T&E, the cpc is stranded and I doubt it is 10.0mm² where it wouldn't be solid and the green/yellow does not look like sleeving. I don't believe they are in the UK.

Your right the cpc is stranded.

The black and red need re-terminating. May well need ring terminals as Brian mentioned.
