have a word with the guys at XS Training they provide nvqs to electricians and have a really good system, they will be able to point you in the right direction and answer all your questions

Your portfolio can be signed by a customer as well showing you completed a job. They need to be listed and signified by the appropriate tick at the bottom.

I finished my portfolio while being self employed on a construction site.
I dragged my feet with mine but it can be done within 8 months, if you're given the right scope of work.
