Does a low voltage (band ii according to bs7671) sign on the exterior of a building need to have a firefighters switch?
Come across a supply lately to an external sign for a taxi office that didnt have one. I always thought that signs outside needed one, but on reading the regs (regulations 537.6 to 538) it only seems , in my interperatation, to apply to signs operating at voltage higher than band ii.
Its fitted with an rcd protected fused spur inside the premises on its own supply from the premises single phase board. Just pricked my interest; anyone got any light to shed, excuse the pun................
