Seeing as you do not appear to know how to test anything by all the different threads you've started, may I suggest that you get yourself a copy of BS7671:2008 Guidance Note 3 published by the IET, which will tell you how to do all the necessary tests.

Just a thought.

Do you understand what impedence is ?

That is not meant as a critisism,it is important to know what it is you are testing, as well as how to test
When you understand both of those, you then need to interpret the results of the test you have done

One step at a time is better than jumping in at the deep end and then trying to swim

If you do understand what impedence is,then the test of earth loop impedence would become clearer

Maybe post again with shorter steps for better progress

How do you do a test to find your impedance

Take an IR Tester set at 500 volts.

Hold the tip of the black probe in your left hand and the tip of the red probe in your right hand.

Get someone to press the test button.

This will give you your impedance - should be about 1000 ohms:)

Guys please remember that we have all had to learn at some time & continue until we croak.

Cj Are you in college or learning Scheme at the moment? The reason some guys are losing patience with you is that some of your questions are basic 1st year stuff that you should be picking up within a course. If you are having difficulties understanding the lecturer, you need to try and clarify with them first.

Yeah first year and I work on big sites so trying to pick up plenty of stuff and there was me thinking this forum was to help people as I dnt do any testing but would like to learn

you cant learn a test simply by asking then moving on.
1. buy the test equip
2. build a test rig
3. get a copy of gn3
4. then ask away, but try one question at time, figure it out then move on.

everyone will be more than happy to help but the ammount of questions and the way they are being asked needs to be looked at.

the forum is here for us all to help or ask for help. as ezzzekiel said try just asking one question at a time, the full range of tests would be far too much to take in all at once and would be pointless. knowledge is like a good meal, a little bit at a time you wouldn`t go ramming the full plate in at once would you? have a look at the tests and the sequence, I would suggest starting to learn them by the sequence they come in. have a practice and if you don`t understand anything at college ASK. you are not expected to know everything at once and there is nothing stupid about asking, if you have a good lecturer they will be more than happy to show you.try the thanks button on the bottom every now and again when someone answers one of your questions and it will go a long way. there have been a great deal of good answers in response to your questions, i know because i have been reading them.
