the baby lithium iron bosch range is the nuts. super light/small and definatley enough power for most jobs. The impact driver is more geared towards chippys and there noisey/annoying as ......!
highly recommend the driver. would'nt be without mine.

I can't even drive a 1 1/2" screw into wood or a Rawlplug with mine!
Its great for machine screws and nuts and bolts, but it takes ages to drive a woodscrew in, it just keeps hammering.
Anyone else got one, I'm wondering if mine is Fubar'd:confused:

Yeah that doesn't sound right.I sometimes get 3" in then have to unscrew and blast in again to get the last inch if it chokes up. Yours definitely sounds a bit knackered if you ask me. They don't drive in as quickly as a normal driver for small screws but should still do a good job. The way I understand it they build up torqe as you leave the button down so you'll get better results from keeping it going than "blipping" it.

Ive got the bosch 10.8v kit,got a deal on screwdriver, impact driver and angle driver plus four batteries for £150 last summer.Use the driver everyday dont know what I did without it!.Angle drivers brilliant for under kitchen unit lights, and its got variable angle and torque settings. The torque driver is loud but good ,used it to screw down a load of decking and it was well up to the job.Davey yours sounds like its knackered, hope you registered it for the three year guarantee!!!

Eh!!:(
Its been like it since new, checked with someone else who has one, seems similar to his. Tried a 1 1/2" screw into timber today, and it was pretty good, must just be bigger screws it has problems with.

I admit it does have its limits,a mate of mine has the makita 18v impact and its an amazing bit of kit but I wouldnt expect the bosch to match it.But Ive always used Bosch ,its in my blood!.

so whats the overall impression of the 10.8v makita compared to the bosch?? and has anyone tried milwuakees version up at 12v?

The Bosch 10.8v is good for its size as is the Makita 10.8v, but the Milwaukee has the advantage of being virtually the same size but has 12v power.
I was using the Milwaukee and my mate was using the Makita and although both were impressive with the extra power the Milwaukee edged it.
but it comes down to what you would be happy with.
