How do you usually negotiate payment terms on a rewire? ie what proportions for first and second fixes?

i do a rewire in a day so no problem.

If the rewire is a big one, for instance 10 days, 50% after 5 days and 50% on completion.

Wouldn't the main material cost be on the second fix?

Depends on the finish. If its all white cheap rubbish then it'll work. If there's loads of expensive kit I'd still ask for it as if its agreed and paid there is less chance you'll lose the 2nd fix

depends on custommer if it is one of my regulars i would like an upfront payment then 2/3 after first fix and remainer on completion.this is because the majority plead they are skint after i have completed the work.
