If i you can't isolate the supply to obtain an R1+R2 would it then be acceptable to calculate it?

Also then as an alternate means how would you prove polarity?

You calculate R1 + R2 at the design stage using resistance values of used cable and circuit length. If you cant isolate you cant do a "dead" test and would carry out a Zs test for earth continuity and polarity

Well a while back i went with some one to an industrial building to help (EICR), theres no way they will let you de energise.........
