Afternoon guys and girls.

I've a customer in a domestic setting who has built an annex on their property. It's all wood construction with a cathedral ceiling.

The ceiling will be insulated and covered with plasterboard, however the ridge board may or may not be left exposed.

From the ridge board, the customer would like a couple of pendant lights to light the living area.

Do you guys have any recommendations on suitably long pendant styles and fixing methods for a domestic cathedral roof?

Pendants will require a drop of around 2 - 2.5m.

Thanks,

John

The type of luminaire & weight dictate the fixings & cable spec etc*& installation method. Standard cable calcs dermine the volt drop & ccc etc. & Can you give us any more info?

I used galv conduit with through boxes last one a terminal box.

The light fittings were suspended from hook plates with chain, supplied with posh looking fitting.

Hi Bruce,

It's more of an aesthetics question but thanks for trying to assist.

Hi Ferg,

Thanks, my initial thought was galv too, but was concerned about how they might connect up a fancy fitting. Hook plates and chain is a great idea.

John
