Whats the best most practical van for a Sparky/Plumber? got a mate with a berlingo and another with a 4m iveco!

Somewhere in between the two, i.e transit sized. I'm a VW man myself and have never had any issues with them at all.

or if you want something that drives like a car, has all the gizmos, only breaks down once a fortnight, get a renault trafic.

I have a transit and it suits me perfectly, I had a Renault Kangoo before but it was too small.

Cheers,
Lofty.

best thing with a transit, or similar size van is you can kip in it if you're working away and use the digs money for beer. i'll stick with my nissan for now. it's slow, noisy, uncomfortable, dented, no frills, a bit like me, but it never breaks down, plods along, should see me into pension time.

VW transporter. Ply lined, optional cigarette point powered beer cooler in cab.

cold beer is for australians, real men drink real ale . 52 deg.C.

Maybe im getting there Tel, drank some bank's at weekend 4 cans, and do you know despite the 3.8% on the side it was bloody nice. Hoppy and malty and really rather pleasant.

Never thought Id be describing ANYTHING in that way from the centre of Wolverhampton. Apart from that singer soul lady.

half way there, laddie, half way. ditch the cans and buy in bottles.

Ps yes bottles applies to satans lager as well but we're in a recession & cans are cheaper

Back to the subject of vans, it's horses for courses.
I have a Merc Dualiner LWB (5 seats plus a van bit at the back) because it serves as family car and sparky (domestic installer) van. Also has an extra 12v socket for my Hoegaarden chiller.
If you're carrying a lot of kit you need a big van, if not so much and you're organised then a berlingo/connect sized van is perfect and easier to park.
Personally if I had a LWB Sprinter then it would get filled with crap and I'd still have nowhere to put stuff.

You were drinking the rough stuff mate, Bank's Mild is a much nicer pint, the locals won't touch the bitter given the choice.

I have a nice Transit Connect racked out by Bott (love the name) and it keeps all my stuff neat - only needs mucking out once a week.

I rather fancy a Land rover tho

Slept in combos and escort vans when on fishing /shooting trips but its really tight if you have tools in as well

Got a spanky new Renault Traffic coming next week or so.

Am i led to believe that they aren't very reliable? Makes no odds to me though as i'm employed!! I'll keep the flask filled and some biscuits in the glove box.
