The Question is the Wording, Can you be a Not Qualified Electrician in this Age, Isnt it a Double Negitive
OK lets go back to BASIC, what is a Electrician, now i cant define what it is, only the people who give the title out (Goverment/ITE)
The way the Governing Bodies define it, as someone with Qualificaions and depending on level of understanding.
Old way, i am guessing was more Time Spent doing the Job. (that dosnt seem to have a Time Limit, guess there shouldnt be, but mor down to the persons understanding of doing the job in hand)
So were dose that leave the Pre-Qual Electricians.
Are you an Apprentice Electrician still or a Electrician seems you seem to have done your NVQ3 (or you still missing AM2)
the am2 is really easy. how are you getting on with your logbooks?I have my level 3 tech certificate which is as written on the certificate/profile. I recently passed the 2394/5 also. Just plodding along with the NVQ site diary side of things at the moment. Should be booked in for my AM2 quite soon.
Still an apprentice and have lots to learn.

i was lazy and knocked up 3 of my writeups in a couple hours (i have a very good memory when i actually pay attention)
hmm finished at 11am on 2nd day then 10am on the third. How did you find the AM2?
Just collecting photos at the moment. I will do a few write ups at a time and go from there i reckon. Got some more commercial 3 phase work coming up so should get some good evidence/pictures from this.
I must admit i have a tad slow with the evidence, i was out of work with a broken Tib/Fib for 12 months.
You should NEVER stop learning, with Electrical's and Electronics forever changing in small ways
we on graphene and all sorts of Computer Devices popping up from WIFI Cams to remote Switches etc
wifi camera's are a bad idea, google defcon and car hacking and you will see why.You should NEVER stop learning, with Electrical's and Electronics forever changing in small ways

honestly it is easy.
the install can be finished on the first day if you rush, i took my time and finished it off in the morning.
the testing/fault finding and safe isolation was easy (dont give them the key)
the online exam was a joke and can be done in 15mins made, you will get bored and leave a question or two unanswered (i had two that i couldn't find referenced in bs7671 but they were obscure questions and didnt have a clue where to look)
yeah, got results same day, i started at the same time as two others and was a few sections ahead when i left.Sounds like a pretty pointless test these days to be fair. But i need it to get my JIB card.
I take it you passed it with ease then?

when i left on the second day with just the online test on the last day they were on testing (way behind)
i was really nervous but it was easy but at least 2 others will have failed it, i spotted non conformancies to the spec out of the corner of my eye when i went for breaks etc, i meticulously followed the spec word for word
if you are not sure what the fault is, put the tests you did down on the paper untill you have run out of tests.Nice 1.
mobile internet basically 3g etc is insecure, you can grab one of these boosters from q carrier then if you take that to say hyde park everyones phones will connect through it and you can see the bare traffic. It is possible to hack in to any WIFI connection via rounts and ways (think that News bit of a woman on the Underground getting Two guys sending her SHOTS, via a app called AppDrop i think, called CYBER FLASHING)
Most WIFI should be facing a Drive or a Door, nothing EXCITING
i cant think how to do it off hand, but would be the Old Recording a Blank day and feeding it back so they dont see you coming on WIFI cam!
I THINK WE HAVE HI-JACKED this POST THO :gunsmilie:
