I have tested the extraneous part in the bathroom and it is well under 23k so definitely needs bonding.
I'm thinking C3 as well as the 6mm connected from boiler pipework to bathroom water pipe has good continuity back to the 10mm at the MET.
Gas bonded with 10mm at front of flat, boiler at back of flat where a 6mm has been linked from it to an extraneous cold water pipe in bathroom.
No other extraneous water pipes in flat.
All continuity good but using the gas pipe as a conductor to link to water pipe.
C3 for 6mm
C3 for non...
This is exactly what I was thinking/remember being taught.
Yet some people I've spoken to in the past reckon they would put the ring on a 20amp breaker.
2 x 2.5mm twin and earth (ring circuit) in 25mm pvc conduit buried (plaster/concrete).
Domestic.
Who here would calculate grouping factor to further derate the cables?
indoor neon sign in a domestic property supplied by a transformer with plug.
Input 230v
Output 4000v 27ma
So would this need a firemens switch as its high voltage?
Yes my multimeter in continuity mode goes up to 19.99k and so then my next available option to get a higher range would be 250v.
Why do I see and read lots of people using it at 500v for this test?
I've never liked the idea of doing this.
when testing pipework to see if its extraneous using the 500v ir test is there a possibility of an electric shock if someone in the house happened to be touching the pipe at the same time of testing?
Yep, I'm prepared for some stick here so fire away ?
13amp FCU off ring main supplying sockets in shed.
Zs at furthest socket in shed is 1.26ohms which is too high for a 32 amp mcb.
Would you use the 13amp fuse in the FCU to meet your Zs reading?
Zs at FCU is 0.70.
