Eaton and hagar do dp breakers... All our transportable buildings are fitted with them as they are made in Slovenia or something similar. Think we had to get them specially ordered from Edmundsons
Thanks all for your replies, quite a few things to consider. Looks like I'm gonna have to have a little mooch about at some point see what's what in Gloucester!
Suppose it's all about finding local suppliers and building up decent relationships with them... I like the idea of a smaller wholesaler who is willing to go the extra mile and provide flexibility than big chains who are only interested in one thing
Very valuable info there Andy thanks for your input, didn't realise it was 60 days thought it was 30! Although haven't looked too much into it. I get the same impression from these chains too, don't think we're worth their time :D
Hi Wes
I'd never heard of TLC before- then realised theres very few around my area seems mostly london way. Doesn't matter if you're getting it delivered anyway i suppose. only trouble is if it arrives and it isn't suitable o_O
Yeah definitely agree with keeping stock on van- absolute life...
Evening you lot
Just wondering what the current idea is with different wholesalers- who's expensive, who's got the stock etc. Been subbing to a company for a while now who use CEF but their prices seem very steep... although I understand it depends how much you're buying from them?
Also how...
Gordon Lees, read what the boiler spec is telling you. It will say something like 12kW @ 240v. You then need to use your p= iv v=ir to calculate resistance of load. Then put this back into your formulae for 236 volts.
You now have an accurate current demand for your circuit. Ideally you should...
No they aren't open book mate. The EAL equivalents of the 2394/5 are open book and still level 3 qualifications but aren't as widely recognised as the C&G.
There are plenty of old threads about those two exams anyway if you want to read up.
Good luck!
Thanks for the welcome. Yeah I agree, if there's something I'm unsure about I'm always trying to learn about it- nothing worse than being up against something and not having a clue! o_O
Really kind of depends on what position you'd like to be in- on the tools or at a desk designing big projects?
I'd also have to agree with 2394/2395 especially for employability! :)
Exactly my point pete999. It's a shame really, having to bring about such tools to cover for people's lack of care. Of course I'm not slating anyone who chooses to use one as that's just personal preference... as long as they don't need to rely on it
Hi guys just like to introduce myself, names Ben, self employed spark for last 3 yrs and started in 2010 so nowhere near as experienced as some of you veterans!
Been hovering as a guest for past 6 months ish, some really beneficial stuff learnt so decided to join
Anyway looking forward to...
What I am trying to say is sparkies have come this far without using them, in my mind connection tightness is something you learn during your training- same goes for not screwing down on insulation or leaving too much exposed copper for example...
