    Thank you, this is what I thought. The cables in the pendant base already can just be secured into new terminal blocks that then hang loose inside the new light fitting?

    I agree. The three out and in is not the issue, its the cables that are in the fixing plate already that will need to stay in there or something else to keep them in the same setup as I dont think I can mount the new light over this existing plate in the ceiling?

    I have two 'regular' lights in the ceiling and I want to change them to spot light fixtures. (images attached). I cant fit the mounting plate over the plate that is already on the ceiling that is housing some cables (I assume because there are two lights on the circuit). So how to I go about...

    i dunno. It might not be earth and I could be talking nonsense. It makes 8 wires in total so I sort of assumed some were earths

    to me it looks like the earths are the ones at the base of the switch? But I could be wrong. Maybe that isn’t earths at all

    Aha yes that make sense. It’s actually in a large kitchen/diner with a switch by the door at the other end of the room. there might be a way to have it so each switch just does the one set of lights at either end of the room. The other option would be to replace all the bulbs with smart bulbs...

    I have just received a wifi switch that does not require a neutral. As far as I thought, it would then be a straight swap with the existing 2 gang switch. However, I can’t seem to see an Earth on this new switch and looking at the current wiring I can’t see how it would switch over. Any ideas? I...
