    Amtec Cert Software

Absolutly Jase I happen to work for a nic company and have never had a problem with them although reading some posts i may well be in a minority! All the governing bodies have to have pretty similer standards but some clients ( especially councils) do expect nic just because thats what they...

    Amtec Cert Software

Use Amtech installed onto 25 laptops, 1 for each sparky, downloading to memory sticks for merging onto my main database. very easy to use and saves huge amounts of time for me. Have used NICEIC own system and that was a bit more of struggle. Dont know about any others though so might be...

What's your lowest Ze recorded on a TT system

Did a lot of installation work at euro-disney and yes this is commonplace in France. They love their TT and run loads of tapes round everything, at E-D every ride/stand etc had its own tapes run round it - dont ask me why, I was just there chucking these things in the ground because they were...

    Bladerunner SWA tool

Pointless tool. Done thousands of SWA's some in really tight situations, hacksaw and stanley knife worked first time every time with no problems. Workmate has a bladerunner and its not quicker or neater than the old way so i think its just a gadget for gadgets sake. Some people like having...

    Rewire period house

Do quite alot of period houses and the quote sounds fair You get more variance in prices on these places than a "bog standard" rewire as some contractors are more used to doing them and can turn the job round quicker and have experrience of the unique problems. Doing a 3 bed 15th century house...

    notches

See what i mean thats 2 slightly different ways. How about 3 cores for 2 ways and outside lights with permanant live to them You could have a 3 gang switch by front door with strappers for up and down lights 2 ways, switch wire for down light and 3 core for outside light. I would mark...

    notches

Yes These are identifying the swith wires, feeds, loop feeds etc so when they come back to 2nd fix they know what each cable is. Every sparks seems to have a different way of marking cables and i've had to bell out an entire lighting rewire before connecting because someone else has wired it!

    the big red book

I liked this one Page 363, appendix 15, Radial final circuit arrangements, reg 433.1 "A radial circuit starts and finishes at the distribution board, where it is connected to a 30A or 32A overcurrent protective device" Hmmm always thought that was called a ring final circuit as...

Powering Two Little 12 V Spotlights

I think the batteries youre talking about are PS996's but they are 6volt. Why not connect them to a 240ac/12dc transformer like on normal low voltage downlights then youve got no run flat issue as your on mains supply (they do get warm though!). Youll have to cut off the cigarette lighter...
