Galaxy 2-20 does not trigger when bellbox cover taken off

Thank you all very much for your helpful advice. Managed to get it sorted: 1. Removed the tamper links so all the tamper functions have been restored on the non-bell components. After making a few calls to the engineer who does the annual test, it turns out that the links were put in because we...

Galaxy 2-20 does not trigger when bellbox cover taken off

Your eyes are not deceiving you, the T terminal is linked with the 0v terminal with a black wire.

Galaxy 2-20 does not trigger when bellbox cover taken off

Thank you again to everyone who has replied. I have a few more questions following the above: 1. Should I remove the tamper link? Why would the engineer who tests the system leave this in? 2. Since the bell doesn't ring when the bell cover is then removed (when mains power is on and the system...

Galaxy 2-20 does not trigger when bellbox cover taken off

Thank you for this, i've replied in bold below: The switch pushes in and out but without dismantling the box and the contacts seem clean and still move as they should.

Galaxy 2-20 does not trigger when bellbox cover taken off

Hello all, When moving the location of the bellbox yesterday (see my previous posted topic), I noticed that alarm does not trigger when the bellbox cover is taken off; i've tried this with the alarm both armed and not. The bellbox does sound in a normal alarm situation however. At first I...

Wiring bellbox to Galaxy 2-20 Alarm Panel - Unsure about terminals

I managed to figure it out but thank you very much for the quick reply. It's all working and armed now although I noticed another problem whilst doing the work (alarm doesn't activate when bellbox cover removed), which i'll set up another topic for.

Wiring bellbox to Galaxy 2-20 Alarm Panel - Unsure about terminals

Hello all, Today I tried to move the location of my parents ADT bellbox but made an amateurish mistake. The original cabling going from the Galaxy 2-20 alarm panel to the bellbox, was via 12 core alarm cable using the colours brown, blue, yellow and orange at the BELL part of the PCB. However...

Dual RCD Split board with unprotected circuit with N wired into Main Switch

Sorry, forgot to mention that bit! The L was fed using what looked like a 16mm stranded single from the Load side of the Main Switch too.

Dual RCD Split board with unprotected circuit with N wired into Main Switch

Hello all. A friend of mine is looking to buy a house and got me to have a cursory look at the electrics for him. One thing seemed a little peculiar but i'm not sure whether or not it'd be deemed unsafe when he gets the EICR certificate done. The Consumer Unit is a fairly recent looking BG Dual...

Disconnecting Internal Siren from Galaxy 2-20 Panel

Cheers Alan, it's all done now and there wasn't a problem setting the alarm, i.e. it didn't go into alarm mode. I disconnected one wire at a time, terminated them into choc blocks. Tested the alarm and it's working fine.

Disconnecting Internal Siren from Galaxy 2-20 Panel

Thank you very much telectrix. All terminated and fine now. Weirdly, the alarm didn't sound when I opened the box. The two wires to the tamper terminations aren't present, although I can see green, blue, white, orange and brown insulated wires snipped off in the main cable. I presume two of...
