Sounds like you’d have to put a lot of faith in the PV generation with that set-up.
Thanks for the reply, shows what’s possible with PV and EV.
I’d he’s got no battery storage installed it all sounds like a normal job 👍
A nice easy one for all the (many) people that are cleverer than me 🙂.
Could you please point me in the direction of a wiring diagram for a heating oil fuelled conventional boiler?
Customer has a large boiler installed which he's planning on using to CH / DHW his house and the attached house...
My assumption is that it’s grid tied, I’ll have a look on when I go there but he didn’t mention battery storage.
It’s a normal EV job then really, where if he does produce PV electricity it’ll just cost slightly less to charge the car?
I saw on a similar thread that the CT placement was an issue?
Evening all.
I got a call from a (potential) client today regarding an EVCP that he’d like fitted.
He’s already had a few quotes and said that as he has a roof full of PV he was told that only some chargers (I know, sockets, but it’s easier for him to think of them as chargers) will be...

That sounds more like what he was after. Is it RFID cards? I assume you pre-load them with X hours or such and hand them over to the customer? Do you mind me asking which EV charger you use please and if there are any back end software costs involved?
Evening everybody.
A Landlord who's pub I do a bit of work in called me today to discuss putting an EV Charger in for customer use.
His idea was to charge £x for 60mins. I vaguely remember that Rolec had a token operated EV Charger but I'm not sure if they still make it. A fair bit of Google...
What kind of earthing system do you think this is? Strikes me as TNS (Paper lead incommer) but the earth coming out of the head makes it look like TNCS??? But then again the earth is on the lead sheath too???
I was only there to have a look today so didn’t do a Ze. Strikes me as an odd way to go...
Going with a 7kW unit now. Pleased really as it would have a pig of a cable pull and almost certainly have caused damages to the building along the way. Interesting response that you got from the DNO. The EV rollout must be causing them some (well overdue) headaches
Evening everybody.
It’s been a while since I’ve asked for the collective brains advice but this one has really got me stumped.
I’ve been asked to install a twin outlet 22kW EV charger at an office. Unfortunately the office is an old doctors surgery (3 storey ex-house, basement , pitched roof...
