    Testing of DALI Systems

I work on them quite a lot at Heathrow, all the lights here are on a port box system so plug and play type thing, so unplug them and start the testing.

    Private Work

To add fuel to this fire, I have a full time job, as a shift electrical engineer, in a large firm. Pretty much the same scenario, I was asked to do some private work e.t.c. In the end I got asked more & more, and I got too worried about losing my job, the tax man e.t.c. I ended up exploring the...

Extending a wireless network using an already existing CAT5e hardwired system

Hello Guys. I have currently got a client with an existing hard wired network to various rooms in her house, it's a very large town house in Clapham, probably about 5 bedrooms. She currently has all the Cat 5 wires to a single locations, just dangling out of the wall with no connections, but...

Class 2 floodlight preferably with PIR but doesn't matter??

I had the same problem. I fitted a timeguard one. Although it has a connection for earth it's purely a loop. It has the double insulated sign on the cover and printed on the case. 6w LED if I recall

What are your favourite brand for LED lighting?

I've tried most makes and find click scolmore inceptor micro to be the best by a long shot. They come with a click and flow connector already fitted, which speeds the install up no end and they are only 50mm deep so fit in most voids

    12v garden lighting

As suggested the best way I have found is to run the feeds in and out of an adapatable box,I use the gewiss ones. If your running leds I find the best way is to buy a big enough box if you can hide it neatly enough, mount the driver in the box, along with some connecter strip or din rail wagos...

    dewalt tough system

Hello Guys, I agree there are probably cheaper ways of doing the same thing. As it goes I don't think the prices are enirely unreasonable, especially considering the prices of some of the veto toolbags e.t.c. I see this as a system that I can build upon and literally stack the boxes up neatly...

    dewalt tough system

Hello Dilb, I've seen and used one similar before. I just likeeing able to carry th the idea of having stackable boxes and the trolley. That way if they are decent i can just buy the boxes, and have different sets of tools in them. Perhaps one for power tools, one for hand tools, testing...

    dewalt tough system

Just bought the dewalt toughsystem set up with the trolley, I'm fed up with lugging my tools to and from the van when parking a mile away in London. Anyone used the system before it seems to have good reviews, and I read about it on here be for when it was new to the market but just wondered if...

    does check a trade work

Hello Guys, I am a member of checkatrade, joined late august time, I constantly get calls from it and have easily made my money back. I also went for the flyer option which is quite frankly rubbish, but the online one is good. Hopefully secured a 7.5k rewire this week and have already got 2...

what wiring centres do you guys use

Thanks for the reply, the only thing with din rail connectors is you have to put them in an adaptable box and drill holes, glands e.t c, I usually do these on a per hour basis so I wouldn't say the plumbing company is do them for would be too happy with the extra charge. Is there any better...

what wiring centres do you guys use

Hello Guys, I do a fair amount of wiring centres and until now. I usually use a wiring centre from a big shed with a 10 way choc block inside. There are some with a PCB inside and also some din rail connectors. Just wondered what you guys thought were best. Cheers Tom

    Outdoor LED strip... Colour changing

Thanks for the replies guys, I think the budget is relatively tight say around £300 mark. I don't think £700 would be viable. I will ring the designer tomorrow and find out the budget I have exactly to play with.

    Outdoor LED strip... Colour changing

Hello Guys, I've got a garden lighting job to do in Feb, a long way a way I know. The company I am doing it for, (garden lighting designer) usually only design very simple 12v garden lighting systems, simple on and off. However this time they have a job for a designer who has asked for colour...
