Hello Guys,

I do a fair amount of wiring centres and until now. I usually use a wiring centre from a big shed with a 10 way choc block inside. There are some with a PCB inside and also some din rail connectors. Just wondered what you guys thought were best.

Cheers

Tom

Thanks for the reply, the only thing with din rail connectors is you have to put them in an adaptable box and drill holes, glands e.t c, I usually do these on a per hour basis so I wouldn't say the plumbing company is do them for would be too happy with the extra charge. Is there any better purpose made product on the market, and in your guys opinion what is the best one if these?

Depends on the type of system to be honest tom, sometimes I use a double pattrice and blank plate and use connectors or wagos, other times if a fair bit of equipment to connect a proper wiring centre.

I did one th other day using a big adaptable box, Wagos and stuffing glands and ill never use anything else again it was about 5 times quicker then using a wiring centre

I get given Honeywell PCB ones, yark the guts out and screw a bit of choc in. The saddle clamps do away with the need for stuffing glands into adaptable boxes. Well neat.

Simple S / Y plan and as has already been said, just a strip of choc bloc in a double pattress. But, if you've got a more advanced heating system which needs a whole bunch of isolators / FSU's, then I'll put a 4way board in, use 3A MCB's instead of a splatter of FSU's all over the shop and there's more than enough space to wire up the control stuff inside it using either DIN rail or wago's. So much easier and quicker, and normally cheaper, too. I'll see if I can find a pic.

I like that.

It looks like a very sensible and elegant solution.

Great idea thank you..... I'm all for my neatness (sometimes verging on OCD.) Got quite a complex system coming up where this would work very well. Cheers Sy
