I’m currently preparing for the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations exam (BS 7671:2018 – AMD2) and I’ve already done a mock test under real exam conditions — I only got 29/60, so I know I need to improve.
My main struggles are with: • Part 4 (Protection for safety) — especially overload vs overcurrent • Part 5 (Selection and erection of equipment) — things like switchgear and circuit design
I’m using the brown book and making sticky tabs to help with navigation. I want to be confident before I book the real exam.
Can anyone share: • How you personally passed? • Tips for remembering where info is in the book? • Any free mock tests or revision resources? • How long you revised before you felt ready?
Also, if anyone failed their first try — what helped you pass on the second attempt?
Any advice is appreciated, cheers!
