Amendment 3 and LSF cable

Good morning,

i was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction, ive heard that amendment 3 will need LSF cable to be used for domestic wiring. Is this correct and if so where is it in BS7671.

It may well do, but i am not sure. The only way you will be able to find out is to look in Part 5, and somewhere in the mire it will specify the BS number of cables to be used for any given application, if you find the BS number, then you can cross reference it to find out the cable specification for the application in question. It wont specifically say that you have to use LSF cable, it will say cable to BS blah blah blah.

I don't want to sound clever, but this is how it is.

I very much doubt if this cable has to be used for everything, but there most probably will be a requirement for it to be used somewhere, but i might be wrong.

No mate i got an E smoke, they are LSF i think!

It will not be stated in the BS7671, because it an amendment to the original document

Expensive, a pain to strip, stiffer so not as easy to route. Awful stuff to use.
