Hi, I have a hypothetical just trying to understand earthing arrangements and bonding.

For example if I am touching a water pipe and a socket back box with no fault occurring but a load on the socket.

I am lead to belive the neutral will rise to 230v as will the earth as they are connected at transformer and same potentiol. (In any earth system)

If I had an un bonded earth there would be a risk of shock if the resistance is too high through ground earth on the water pipe, back to transformer.

I could get a shock in normal working conditions. As there is a potential difference

Is that correct, just trying to get my head around it, if I am wrong please explain why.

Help much appreciated.
