I have changed the switch for my electric shower today (pull cord) but when I try to turn the breaker switch back on it won’t let me. Do you know what I may have done wrong?

Can you post a picture of the new switch?

Possibly wired the switch 90 degrees the wrong way so it shorts the supply. Could have trapped the wiring damaging the insulation. If the old switch was burnt out was the cable cut back to clean bright copper and the terminals tightened very firmly?
