Emergency light test procedure??

HI I have been asked to test 3x emergency lights in a residentual staircase.
What is the test and how to do it??
I have seen the em light cert and it doesnt really say much?

You need to have a copy of Bs 5266 to have the full requirements for Em lighting

In my case its ok me having information,its another matter whether I can understand that information though
