Hi everyone,
I recently installed the Heatmister Neostat HC to control my wet underfloor heating and AC. However, I’ve encountered an issue: this thermostat doesn’t have ports for floor sensors. Since all the floors in the property are wooden, I’m concerned about overheating the wet UFH, which could damage the flooring.
Could anyone suggest a device that I could hide inside the back box and set up to limit the maximum temperature? I want to avoid any potential overheating issues. Thank you for any ideas.

Does your UFH system not have a method of setting max temp, such as a thermostatic valve on the manifold, or as a heat pump setting etc?
Polypipe do an overheat sensor for their manifold, but not sure it would be any help to you!

I have an ordinary Neostat V2 in each room on a wet UFH system. They do have a port for an underfloor probe. I imagine you need the HC version for air conditioning, but could you include a V2 somewhere, or use it as a substitute?

We have engineered wood floors, and I used to be concerned about the UFH max water temp, but frankly am now less bothered, having run the system up to 40 deg (at the manifolds) for some years with no ill effects. With weather compensation, other than in really cold conditions, the water temperature is not that hot anyway.

PS: A further thought - unless you want to spend your whole life trying to find the sweet spot setting for weather compensation (assuming it's implemented), you really need air temperature measurement in rooms, not just under-floor temperature!

Hi mate,
Thank you very much for your response. Unfortunately, it's not possible to install V2 as an additional thermostat since the whole house is nearly finished. You're right—the only option left is to set the temperature on the manifolds. Fortunately, the HC units have built-in room sensors, which should help.
Thank you.
