O
ooo_shiny!
Just wanted to say hi to all on here,
Just started college doing NVQ 2330 level 2 in Leeds, then onto level 3, inspection and testing, PART P and then AM2.
I realise jobs are hard to come by for people like me, hardly a years' experience with electrical work and only have City and Guild Qualifacations (when i pass)....
So in conclusion i'm going solo, self-employed. In the process of wiring my old mans' new build. Thats experience enough!
My idea is to take photos of my work, look at others' work and see where i need improvement. Basically a self reviewing process to better myself! .... Reason for this is due to alot of 'trainees' don't mind working for free - As alot have said on here in forums.... I'm sorry i cant be doing with this. I NEED to provide and this just won't do. I can't compete with someone who will work for free... WE NEED TO TAKE BACK THE TRADE FROM THE RECESSION. Show them how good you are! .... Most topics i have read so far are all doom and gloom...'i cant get work', 'no one will employ me', ' i will work for free if you employ me, need experience' .....The only true way to learn, IS TO DO IT YOURSELF!!! (Which is how i live my life).
Bah....Rant over! Its just annoying to find out that the only way to get in the trade, and 21 years of age, at the moment is to attend college, cram the theory in, the health and safety, and practice, practice, practice in a workshop. BECAUSE THERE ARE NO APPRENTICESHIPS!!! ..... Government promised to back a load of appreniceship schemes...and oh look!....they didnt keep that one.
Bah....Another Rant over!
So, anyone else on here thats studying 2330 level 2? Where at? How you liking it?
Hope to hear from you, the electrician community
