Afternoon all,
New to the site so thanks in advance.
Currently working on a new build, the supply was installed last week (new build) 80a fuse installed, EON installed the meter this week with 100a DP switch. All fitted within the external meter box. I’m looking to run tails, ideally I need to come down from the box approx a meter and then through cavity wall into 100mm trunking into metal CU (RCBO). Full length of tails need to be 4.5m. As above I was aware of the 3m rule unless switched. As there is already the switch by EON, does this account for a switched spur and allow the extra length required?

The presence of a switch has no bearing on the length of the tails.

The length of tails that the DNO permit their fuses to be used to protect is 3m, so if you need a cable longer than this to connect to the CU then you need to install a distribution circuit to do this.

He means, you might be required to provide your own switch fuse for tails over 3m. Have you enquired with the DNO? Why is the main fuse 80A?
