Hi All,

Working towards MCS and just wondering what the situation is with the 'rest of the installation'.

If there's a spare way in an old board am i required to test any of the existing installation or do i need to worry about the new circuit only?

As an EIC will be issued for the new circuit i will be checking bonding etc is up to scratch.

Thanks...

you should at least check that the existing circuits are safe. any code 1 faults must be rectified or isolated, and other deviations recorded on your EIC ( IMO)

You are required to ensure that the existing installation is sound by doing a periodic inspection or asking for existing periodic inspection reports.

To be fair, I do this with any domestic job I do. If there are any code 1s, we are the only ones that ever going to find them and we're duty bound to bring them to our customers attention. You may even get a rewire out of it.
