Yeah I thought we were on about TT systems which petrol stations are.
Most circuits Are protected by DP RCCBs but I've seen a few sp breakers so I was just curious. No one has ever mentioned needing to isolate the main section breaker if I was to work on a circuit which doesn't have DP isolation.
In the case of a circuit on a petrol station fed through single pole mcb... If we need to work on that circuit then we should be locking off the front end / section breaker to disconnect the neutral?
In Scotland, an apprenticeship with SVQ level 3 (about 4 years ) will class you as a time served ,qualified electrician. However as many know, you never stop learning. Inspection and testing 2391 (2394/2395) is also the benchmark for a lot of employers and clients these days. If you have these...
Installers on large construction sites eg office blocks, schools, government buildings. Guys who want to earn that money generally work away from home wherever the work pops up. Not everyone gets these rates but my point is, its out there.

I do agree the led lighting now is more cost effective in the long run, and a nicer brighter light.
Got a mewp hire next week so I'll see what's up there then. Lights are on 24/7 for the moment . Thankfully this site will be gone shortly , nothing but hassle from it.
I get what you are saying , the ideal setup would be individual rccbs.
To put you in the picture , this site is one which very shortly will no longer be maintained by my company and as such I have been instructed to keep the spend to a minimum. All I'm looking to do is get the lights switching...

So so probably a combination of old control gear and possible contactor issue. What about my rcd? I thought I...
