13A hob and 32A oven on same circuit

Thanks Loz. The amps I stated are taken from the seller's website against "Amperage". The 6mm cable runs from the CU through a wall and then is clipped to a wall (underneath cabinets prior to going up through a dot and dab wall cavity to an oven switch. It sounds like the existing circuit...

13A hob and 32A oven on same circuit

I intend to install a 32A 4.8kW oven and a 13A 3.7kW induction hob on an existing 40A breaker with 6mm cable. Will this be OK?

Earth cable in kitchen - purpose?

Hi, I had the house re-wired in 2018. I have taken the kitchen out and have found a new earth cable was installed but is not connected to anything. What purpose would this have? Is it for earthing the plumbing? Thanks, Hadley

    Patio heater (hard wire)

Yes potentially but it would render the project unfeasible hence why I ask the cable size as I imagine the cost of an electrician will be considerably less if they simply do the terminations.

    Patio heater (hard wire)

Thanks - sounds like I will need to re-think. Cable length will be 20m, will 1.5mm2 not suffice for 3kw?

    Patio heater (hard wire)

It would mean a lot of builder's work to put on a new circuit. The current circuit is on a 20A MCB which feeds two double sockets, neither of which are in use.

Single switch to double switch (adding second light in same room)

Hi all, As per the subject, I am looking to change an existing single switch for a bathroom to a double switch to control an additional light in the bathroom. I have looked at the wiring and there seems to be: 1. one feed (T&E) to the switch (i.e. no return for the loop so I imagine there is a...

    Soffit spotlight

Hi all, I would like to fit 2 spotlights in the soffit board above garage door. Planning to come off the garage lighting circuit and feed them from either - - Existing feed to floodlight - could I simply come out of the junction box for the floodlight and connect to two spot lights with some...

Outdoor lighting - adding to existing

Thanks Dusty - I was thinking that I would connect into the left side light and then run down the wall so no need for a wiska box. Are you saying that I could take my connection from the wiska box and have a 'fork' in the circuit (i.e. one spur off for the wall lights and another for the garden...

Outdoor lighting - adding to existing

Thanks for the response! Belt and braces as it is external - the conduit will only be near enough ground level (alongside sleepers) - would you recommend a different type?
