Anybody know which kind of adapter this is? It goes to some string lights at my restaurant. Trying to find a replacement.

I am guessing a bit because there is not much info to be found in your original post.

I think it is an electrical adapter.
as @Petej999 says, a picture would help narrow it down a bit.

It looks most likely that the problem lies with the corroded plug and socket, not the adaptor itself.
 
you could try some light abrasive cleaner followed by some a dab of grease to prevent further corrosion.
alternatively if you know someone who is handy with a soldering iron, it might be easier to replace the plug and socket.
 
cut both off, noting which is which ( + and - ). then replace with any suitable 2 pin plug/socket.
