Hi All

Thought I'd share with you a conversation I had with a training provider in the Teesside area. They have funding for employers looking to take on an 16-19 year old apprentice. This funding covers the quals and there is a possibility of a further £1500 if you have not employed an apprentice before. More details just PM me

already done this should be getting the cheque soon,
I took on my sons mate as he couldn't get an apprenticeship anywhere locally despite trying really hard writing and phoning so I said in jest if you can find anywhere I'll do something so he could get into college at least, college guy comes to see me and says you will be entitled to £1500 grant when the apprentice finishes 3 months at college.
skills funding agency called to verify my details last week, max time is 6 weeks for sfa to send money to college and 4 weeks for college to pass on to me.
although i wasn't really looking for an apprentice this has actually turned out to be great as the lad is hard working, keen and more than worth the money I'm paying him (more than gov recommended pittance) and he makes good tea as well !
