1990s home. 100 amp main feed. Nevada. 15 years mechanical experience on cars + motorcycles.

Previous electric exp: I ran the other 50 amp 4-wire setup directly from the interior subpanel.

Now I was told by an electrician when I was shopping around to get the above job done, and a 30 amp plug for a smaller RV in my driveway--

that he could run a breakered subpanel directly from the metered 100 amp box thats sitting next to my driveway. The box does have a shutoff, not sure if this matters.

The subpanel i'd like to run is a breakered 30 + 20 amp box, for a 30 amp RV plug and then 2 smaller regular 15 amp plugs. Requires 4 wire , which I purchased 6/4 romex I believe..

Is this possible? Thanks and sorry for any ignorance on my part.

God bless

To be honest I would listen to the electrician. If you do anything with your main panel you have to have a disconnect as per NFPA
