I'm building a kit car based on a 1986 Sierra and I've got a problem with the wiring to the distributor. I had to take the engine out but took photos of the electrics before I did so. The photos were on my phone which smashed and I lost all the photos!!

There's plug coming off the distributor with three wires going into it - orange, purple and black. I know the black is earth because it bolts directly to the body of the distributor.

I've now got three wires coming from the coil - blue/white, a thick blue wire and a thin blue wire. Anyone know how I work out which wires go to which terminal in the plug.

Many thanks

post a pic . so we can see what you have.
