Hi all

I doing an eicr in a hotel. In the bathroom they have downlighters, some with 12v transformers some with LED GU10 fittings.

In a large majority of cases, there are plastic connectors on both sides of the transformers, no junction box, in free air laying on the ceiling.

Would you Code 1 the low voltage side & Code 2 the extra low voltage side or Code 2 both sides.

Your thoughts and advice will be gratefully received.

Code 2. They are not immediately accessible as such, but they are a potential danger yes.

You may be even able to argue Code 3, depending on the actual terminations. If just a choc block then Code 2 in my view.

Many thanks Mr G Owl

I figured as much but wanted to be absolutely sure as there is an epidemic of these types of finish in this hotel.

you will see much, much more like that on other commercial and domestic work... taped choc bloc industry standard.

Ive seen this actually described in the b&q MI before now to choc and tape
