hi im looking to solder solid-color led strips to one power supply for each color, in order to dim each color individually. this is reasonable right?
if i were to split the white strip over 4 different shelves, and i don't want to connect the ends of each strip to the next one (cause it'll be messy) so would i be able to wire each strip that was split from the main roll into one wire just by twisting the live wires, and then the ground wires from the four strips, into one wire for each to go into the switch power supply? I'm trying to dim the white, separate from the red, separate from the blue.
also how would i do this on a smaller scale, like dimming multiple different colors. would it be like zones on the power supply? should i just get a bigger one? also only one pmw dimmer can be used per power supply?
hopefully someone can answer these questions.
thanks

TL;DR
can i twist wires from 4 led strips into one wire, then into the power supply? or suggest better way to light/dim shelves.
Does the RGB strip not come with a controller that gives you any colour? That’s done by dimming individual R,G and B within the controller. Usually by a remote, but can get Smart control with a mobile.

no no it's not rgb. i am using 5630 solid cool white. 5630 solid red, and then 5630 blues. i want to dim each color separately. i am using them to grow plants. the only controller i plan to use is an inline pwn dimmer for each color.
i am wiring around 4 shelves per roll of each color. i guess I decided I'll do a inline dimmer for each color for each shelf, doubling up on white. so how about twisting the four wires into one? and would a switching power supply work? like this?
