Good afternoon,

I currently hold..
C&G 2360 PT 1&2
NVQ 3
18th edition wiring regs
2391 testing & inspection

I understand I can issue my own EICR’s etc but can I notify building control of my work (part P)?
Or do I HAVE to join a scheme like nic eic or nappit? Or is there a qualification I need like C & G 2393-10.

I don’t really want to pay nic eic or nappit because I’m retired and I’m only going to do a small amount of work each year?

thanks in advance. ?

to notify under part pee it's economical to be niceic as opposed to paying BC £300 per job. otherwise stick to non-notifiable jobs. ( except for those notifiable jobs you keep quiet about. ?).

I'm also retired and the last job that I had to notify to building control was about five years ago.
The requirement is to be 'competent', and a scheme membership is deemed to demonstrate competence. (We all know that it demonstrates no such thing, but that's the rules.)
Building control are, or were, aware that there were many fully experienced and fully competent electricians around, who were approaching retirement date, who weren't going to be interested in all this recently introduced red tape, and have the discretion to accept your occasional EICRs, if you can convince them.
