Hi
Can anyone recommended a anemometer that is:
  • not too big nor too small
  • not too cheap nor too expensive
for the moment the anemometer will be used to take readings in an open office where some clients complain of drafts

thanks in advance

Sounds like a very sensitive device that can detect a draught, especially considering how low the airflow has to be to be perceptible to people.

I would imagine it would be prohibitively expensive.

Pure guesswork mind.

After reading Google for ten minutes I'm now an expert.

A hot wire type will give the greatest sensitivity, down to 0.1m/second.

Again though with draughts I think people detect a temperature change rather than airflow.

If it was warm air being moved about nobody would notice but if the incoming air is cold, its the change in temperature that's perceived the actual air flow may be very small.

Tell the whinging gits to put a jumper on!!

I'm thinking it might be better to use a thermal imager to look at the airflows / cold spots as I'm not sure an anemometer will catch enough airflow in a large open office space
