Zs increase after lowering Ze?

Hi all,

Domestic property rewire.

Kitchen ring measured Zs of 14.6

checked the Ze and way up at 580.

Banged in an earth spike, Ze now down to 160

Checked Zs at same socket outlet and it measured 80.5

???

Why would this occur?

Just got home not had time to think cleary, any pointers please.

r1 = 035
rn= 0.34
r2 = .54

The installation looked like TN-S at first glance, a ribbon earth from MET clamped to incoming supply cable?

Check your tester on another site or compare it with another ie test another site with your and a borrowed tester

Tester is fine! calibrated, But thanks.

Take the rod connection out the met and then test ZE THEN put direct into C.U. and retest your Zs
