Hi guys, any idea on sizing this please, any help will be great, thanks in advance.

A 6kW induction motor (pf 0.95) is to be connected to a 230Volt 50Hz Supply. The motor is required to control a heist in an office furniture warehouse. The motor will be supplied by a multicore SWA cable with copper conductors. The cable will be run on a perforated tray run vertically in the warehouse. The tray also carries 3 other similarly loaded SWA cables for other various electrical loads, and the ambient temperature is 30⁰C. The distance between the main distribution board and the heist (cable run/length) is 55 metres. Calculate and answer the following:
A. The size if the cable is an “Armoured PVC Insulated Cables with Copper Conductors.
B. The size if the cable is an “Armoured XLPE Insulated Cables with Copper Conductors.
Comment on what effect, if any occurred with the cable size selected when the insulation is changed from PVC to XLPE insulation

Open your on site guide, and go to the part which lists the current carrying capacity of copper cables. At the start of that section there is a basic guide to cable calcs.

Thought it's all the same, it's a one off electrical question in a project, I'm a student and don't need to be doing this again once I've answered this.

So you want someone else to answer for you. The general idea of homework is for you to learn how to do you're own research. Click HERE.

Sorry I'm new, where is the on site guide

??????.

I think you'd be better off looking in BS7671. or better still the classroom notes that were supplied in your lessons

Now ask your tutor what temperature rating is the switchgear and protective devices. That would be a good start.
